QA offers options for passengers like Hotels in Doha

You might be a frequent flyer, yet to when it comes to check in one really feels a hazzle. The doubt still remains whether the passenger could board on time or denied a seat at the check in counter. Persuant to steady growth in the tourism industry, hotels in Doha have come up with add on services to serve the clients with extra options. Now why should the nation's flagship airline stand back, Qatar Airways officially launched its online check-in service yesterday for all passengers departing from Doha.

This kind of check-in is first of its kind in the region. By registering with www.qatarairway.com, new service will the allow passengers to virtually move through the aircraft, pick a seat of their choice, print a boarding pass or a bar-coded boarding pass SMS directly to cell phones given at the time of registration. This is a 24-hour service allowing passengers of all segments who have a confirmed booking. Check-in time varies from 36 - two hours prior to departures. For baggage check-in, passengers can use the dedicated "Fast Bag Drop" counters located in the departure hall of the main terminal. For passengers with carry-on bags will be able to simply proceed directly to the gate after completing the necessary immigration and security formalities. First and Business class passengers, who use the online check-in service and departing from Qatar Airways Premium Terminal, can use any of the check-in counters to drop off their luggage.

Over the past 12 months, Qatar Airways have invested in time and resources to develop a new range of online initiatives to provide passengers with an improved and hassle free travel experience. The popular feature of this online check-in service is its ability to select seats up to 36 hours in advance; ensuring passengers can sit together on seats of their choice as you can easily check in (hotels in Doha) with your favorite ones. Apart from these QA has tied up with leading Doha Hotels to promote standards in corelation with the Department of Tourism, Qatar.

For beginers, QA has set up a dedicated customer service counter for online check-in at the airport and further it plans to roll out the service in near future to other international airports served by Qatar Airways. Civil Aviation Authority chairman Abdul Aziz al-Nuaimi, Doha International Airport Security and Immigration Department director Brigadier Nasser al-Malki, QA Commercial executive vice president Ali al-Rais and other dignities were present for the online launch.

Meanwhile, with a cell phone carrying a boarding pass, scanners have been set up throughout the airport to ensure a faster service for online check-in passengers. Most mobile phones, smart phones, and PDAs support the new mobile boarding pass service.

The facility however, is not currently available for QA passengers departing from Doha to New York or Washington, but all the other 81 key business and leisure cities across Europe, Middle East, Africa and others are covered. Weather turning favourable, region's tourism season is on. Most of the hotels in Doha, including 5 star hotels are already on full list. To cater the travel needs the national carrier has added a few more flights to welcome the tourists and investors who plan to visit Doha during this season.
